Our Story
Hello! Thank you for stopping by, I am Eva Balzer, owner and operator of Balzers Barnyard Boarding. All of my life I have been an avid animal lover and have had pets as far back as I can remember. I have always loved spending time with my furry friends from early childhood well into my adult life. That passion has never stopped. When I was married to my wonderful husband, I finally had a large enough space to own one of my favorite dog breeds, a Siberian Husky! Caring for such a unique and energetic breed proved to have its difficulties, but I was quick to figure it out, enough so that we got a second one. It was at that point that I knew I had to make a change in my life and make my passion my career. After over a decade in building a career in blue collar work, me and my husband put our heads together on how to make my dream a reality. Today here we are! Offering a needed service to the Owatonna and surrounding communities. Your furry friends will absolutely love the space given here at Balzers Barnyard and all the playtime they could ever want, spending one-on-one time with me and in group settings with other friendly dogs.

Large indoor play area
For those days where being outside for an extended period of time is just not an option we have an custom indoor play area where all the furry friends can socialize, relax, or take a snooze. Fenced in outdoor play area
When the weather is right and you're feeling alright, we have a very large completely fenced in area where your furry friends can really burn off some energy with zero risk of running off and getting into trouble. If your dog does well around others they can socialize and have a blast. For any animals that may be uncomfortable around others we have the ability to add isolated fencing with movable fencing panels. We can accommodate almost any unique needs. (Extra charge may apply)
Unlimited adventure space
We are named Balzers Barnyard for a reason. We are situated right on a family dairy farm. There are endless adventure areas for your furry friends to experience many new things. Whether its a leashed or unleashed walk your pet will be ecstatic with all the new scenery, scents and strange animals they may encounter. We will only walk off leash with owners permission and a known well trained dog.
